Kaida followed suit as Deidara jumped off the giant bird, and she felt her feet hit the flat roof moments later. She watched as the bird raced away through the dark sky. She then observed the surroundings down below with curiosity. She spied a dirt path, among simple vegitation and boulders.
Kaida had also noticed that Deidara had taken a seat on the edge of the roof, looking down onto the path she had seen. She sat herself on the edge next to him, on his right. She leaned back, setting her weight on her arms, which was placed behind her on either side.
Deidara addressed her quietly, noting that the building were they were currently located on was where he had lived previously. Her eyes widened slightly, and she found herself glancing about the roof. She nodded in understanding when he admitted that it was strange to be back from being away so long.
Kaida looked over at Deidara, a content smile resting on his lips. She turned back to the dirt path and the rest of the scenery, her eyes darkening to a calm turquoise, taking in the peacefulness of the scene. "It's nice..." she complimented quietly.

"I thought so too, hm." Deidara agreed, looking away from the path below for just a moment to admire the sun setting ahead of them. His smile stayed pasted onto his mouth, recalling memories from Iwagakure from when he previously lived here.
Suddenly a slightly high-pitched voice broke the silence. "C'mon, pleeease? I really want to learn it!" Another voice, a womans voice, sounding older and smooth. "When you get older, Ishiko, I promise."
Deidara's gaze immeadiately snapped to the source of the conversation. At first, a look of shock crossed his expression, but it soon turned into a wide grin. A little girl with blonde hair in pigtails walked down the path with a taller woman. She had blonde hair as well, long and down her back. Both had Iwagakure heabands, the younger girls on her forehead, the older womans hung around her neck. The smaller girl tugged on the womans arm impatiently. "But I want to know it now," She whined. The older woman just closed her eyes and smiled down at her gently.
"Ishiko-chan... If you wanted to learn it, I would teach you any jutsu or special technique in the whole world..." Deidara's smile remained on his lips as he watched the two walk closer to the house that Kaida and himself were sitting on top of.

Silence fell over the two in a soothing blanket. The sun continued to set, closing out another day. Orange shot through the serene of turquiose pools as a sudden voice rang through the area. Another sounded in reply to the first. Kaida's head snapped in the direction of the voices, and moments later, the owners of the voices appeared. There was small girl, her blonde locks tied into pigtails, while another, older woman walked beside her, her flowing hair also blonde.
Kaida looked over at Deidara while still listening to the two, the child begging to be taught, while the elder gently told her no. She saw that he had wore a wide smile as he watched the 2 approaching the house. She assumed he knew them, and decided to ask about them.
"Who are they?" she inquired in a whisper.

"Ishiko is my little sister, the other woman is my mother, hm." Deidara explained quietly, not taking his eyes off of the pair as they neared the house.
"You should wear your headband around your neck, Ishiko-chan. When you wear it that way it almost covers your eyes." The older woman encouraged, tugging down on the bottom of the forehead protector. "Nooo," She whined, trying to pull it back up. "Nii-san wore his like this! I want to too!" She finally fixed the headband and huffed at her mother. Deidara's grin grew as he watched the small girl. He was glad she still remembered him, and even better, didn't resent him. It made him want to speak up, he wanted to talk to them again. But Leader-sama wouldn't allow anything of the sort. Going back into the village was bending the rules as it is.
The older blonde woman's eyebrows narrowed and her eyes gained a tint of sadness at the mention of Deidara, but she quickly covered it up and smiled. "Okay, you can keep it like that." The pair reached the house and stepped inside, and the silence returned again.
Deidara's smile still hadn't faded. He started to laugh a little. Just seeing them both made him happy, even if he couldn't converse with them.

Kaida set her sights back on the two blondes as they nearly approached the house when Deidara explained that they were his family; his younger sister and mother. She immediately saw the resemblence between the 3 that she had seemed to miss in her curiosity.
She watched the pair, his mother attempting to persuade the little girl, Ishiko, as Deidara had said, to wear her headband around her neck instead of her forehead, where it nearly blocked her vision. But Ishiko refused, justifying her reason for wearing it up on her head was because Deidara had worn it in the same style himself.
Kaida found herself smiling, admiring the child. She realized then that Deidara must have meant a great deal to Ishiko when he had lived here, and throughout the years, Ishiko held the great love she had for him back then, despite his forced departure and inability to return. However, Kaida noticed that Deidara's mother retained a different emotion for her lost son. She saw hints of sorrow when Ishiko refered to her older brother. This flash of emotion was hidden behind a smile in seconds, as she gave into the Ishiko's ways.
Ishiko and her mother disappeared into the walls of the house, the warm sight of them leaving Kaida's eyes a peaceful sunflower yellow. She heard soft laughing on her left, and she turned to see Deidara, wearing the brightest smile, seemingly at the happiest she had ever seen him.
She saw now why he was so happy at the chance to come back, and why it pained him so much to have to leave...
She thought it was nearly pefect...

"They're both just like I remember them..." Deidara said quietly. Ishiko had always been stubborn, and his mother would never scold her because she was too kind, When he still lived there, Deidara used to have to take care of Ishiko when his mother wasn't home, on a mission usually. They bonded because of that, which is why Ishiko didn't want to forget him, and why it hurt his mother to think about him.
He looked beside him at Kaida. "Thank you, Kaida-san, really, I apreciate it that you'd let me come back just to see them, hn." He smiled and looked down at where his family was once standing. "I think you understand more than anyone else does..." He murmered, so quietly that he wondered if Kaida heard it or not.

Kaida listened while Deidara revealed that the 2 had not changed since the last time he had been with them. Kaida thought to herself, thinking back to the personalities of the 2; Ishiko, cheerful and determined, like the younger sibling Kaida always wanted. His mother, kind and gentle....so much like her own mother.
The calm turqoise that had crept into her eyes paled to a deeper blue, as memories of time spent with her mother flooded her mind. Though the thoughts didn't have time to sink in, for Deidara had turned to her. She gave him a warm smile as he thanked her for letting him come back, and be somewhat reunited with his family, ending a murmur that Kaida barely hear. Not being entirely sure of what he said, she let it go without reply, in fear she had misinterperted his words. "Oh, anytime, Deidara-san. I just thought you'd like to come back..." she said sincerely.

Deidara sighed contentedly, still wearing a small smile. After a moment, he looked to his right at Kaida and opened his mouth to suggest going back to Akatsuki base, but noticed her dark blue, depressed eyes and stopped short. Concern showed up in his expression.
"What's wrong, Kaida-chan, hm?" He turned his body to face her, watching her melancholy eyes carefully.

Kaida's eyes snapped to his face, seeing an expression laced with worry upon his face. She shook her head; she wasn't about to ruin Deidara's time in Iwagakure by thoughts of her mother. "Nothing's wrong," she tried assuring him, momentarily forgetting that her eyes would say otherwise.

Deidara obviously didn't believe her because his worried expression stayed in place. "Your eyes look dark and sad, Kaida-chan, I know something's bothering you, un." He started to worry that it was something he did, not thinking that she saw Deidara's family and started to get upset about her own.

Kaida squeezed her eyes shut, cursing inwardly; she was like an open book, her eyes displaying everything she felt. She wasn't too keen on letting the world see all of her emotions, especially her sorrow or depression.
She knew that there was no use in telling Deidara that she was fine when her eyes clearly showed that she wasn't. She opened her eyes, facing forward, watching the dirt path again. "Your mother....my own was alot like her. I was just...thinking about her...that's all.." she explained, trying to word it like it wasn't a big deal.

Deidara's expression saddened. If she was upset by thinking about her mother, obviously something happened in the past that she felt badly about. "I'm sorry, for whatever happened, hm..." He looked down at the flat roof. He thought about asking her what happened, but he didnt want to make her more upset, so he avoided the question.

Kaida slowly turned to look at him. Noticing that the concern in his face shifted to melancholy, she gave him a faint, reassuring smile. "You have nothing to be sorry for, Dei-kun. But thank you, for being concerned about me," she said, her smile growing a little wider, thankful that Deidara, unlike most of the Akatsuki members, cared enough to worry about her.
She then stretched slightly, then stood cautiously. "Are you ready?" she asked, refering to them heading back to the base.

Deidara smiled slightly once Kaida did, even though he felt like she was still upset. But he didn't want to make matters worse by asking more about it, so he said nothing more about the subject.
He stood up once she asked if he was ready to leave and brushed off the back of his cloak. "Yeah, let's go, hm." He jumped up off of the roof, but just as he was about to fall back down, his signature, giant clay bird caught him and sped torward the Iwagakure village wall. He turned his body around to watch it get more distant, but suddenly his eye caught on something below. Small, innocent Ishiko was standing in the back doorway, her eyes wide and looking directly up at him.
Deidara stared back, his expression shocked as well. Would she tell anyone? Ishiko was his sister, but he was a criminal. His mind stopped racing once he saw Ishiko crack a smile, and put her finger over her lips, like she would keep a secret. Deidara grinned at her.

Kaida watched as Deidara jumped off the roof and onto the back of his clay bird, who had returned, as smoke consumed her body. She shot off to catch up with him, but slowed when she saw a startled look on Deidara's face as he looked back on the village.
She looked back herself, to see Ishiko staring at her older brother from the back door of the house. She could feel her eyes widen and her stomach drop; they had been seen. She looked back at Deidara, an unsure look to his features. She then turned back to Ishiko, who was now smiling with a tiny finger to her lips. Kaida grew a smile herself, and she saw that Deidara wore one, identical to Ishiko's.
Kaida continued to glide through the air, looking back occasionally to see Ishiko still standing in the doorway, still grinning.
