Sakura took another step on the rotting soil beneath her, tilting her head up toward the leaning fence only feet away from her grasp. What exactly caused her to come here she wasn’t sure of; she only knew there was something almost calling her into the forest. Inhaling a deep breath, she let the many memories jog through her head once more. It had been forever since she laid eyes on the deadly place.
Swinging her arms back and forth, Sakura swiftly jumped over the fence, hearing the soft thump of her feet hitting the ground. Now what? she silently thought to herself. Walking in no particular direction, she strolled into the forest with hopes of finding what she was looking for.
Hour after hour passed by, with the Sun now setting off in the distance. Sakura let out a long moan, plopping onto a nearby stump. How long had she been walking? And to find what? Nothing.
With nothing to do and no where to go, her thoughts started drifting away from reality. So much for adventure…

Kimi sat cross legged in almost darkness, surrounded by only a couple trees spine was perfectly staright. She held her right hand in her left and touched the tips of her thumbs together. Meditation. She'd been there since the sun was up, and didn't realize how late it was getting.
Meditating was one of her favorite things to do. Kimi loved the oneness she felt with the earth, and how time just lost meaning. Inhale... exhale... focus on breathing. She felt really relaxed, after hours and hours of the same procedure.
It was only when she heard a dissapointed sigh from somewhere in front of her that her concentration broke. Her left eye opened to see Sakura slouched on a stump in front of her, facing the opposit way. Kim's posture stayed the same. She remembered her from Konoha, but only barely, she'd seen her around the village and remembered her name. So she decided to make sure that she knew she was behind her, so she wouldn't scare her.
"Er, hi," Kimi said quietly, opening her other eye as well, but keeping her hands in the same meditation pose.

Sakura’s body violently bolted up, her guard lifting on full alert as she jumped a few yards away from the voice. She mentally slapped herself after realizing the presence being another Leaf shinobi. Taking a small breath, calming her body, she gave a sheepish grin at the girl in front of her.
“Sorry, you surprised me!” Sakura called out. Her train of thoughts drifted to her company; hadn’t she seen this girl from somewhere before? Only one way to find out.
“Have we met?” she asked curiously.

Kimi smiled, still feeling relaxed but focused from the meditation. "Yes. Well, we've seen each other around the village I think." She added, finally moving her hands to rest each palm on either of her legs. "You probably have heard about me going between the Mist and Leaf villages a lot, maybe...."
"You're on the same team as Naruto, right?" She asked, trying to match the face with the team as well. "Oh, my name's Kimi by the way, Kawa Kimi," She smiled again but stayed seated. "Sorry I scared you,"

“Hm, I guess you’ve heard about my team,” her head looked down, staring at the ground. Pushing feelings aside, she quickly forced her face up to greet Kimi. “I’m Sakura.”
She suddenly began thinking about Kimi’s recent comment. Leaf and Mist villages? Her mind became clear when she realized Tsunade’s explanation on the girl. So this is the one they were talking about…
“Oh, it’s ok! I wasn’t that scared!” Sakura babbled out. She hated admitting her cons, no matter how much she knew they were there.

Kimi nodded in understanding. "I figured you weren't, being that we're in the middle of the woods at night. I hadn't planned on staying out this late, my dad's probably throwing a fit right now..." She sighed and stood up from her cross legged seat, then brushed off the back of her legs.
"So what are you doing out in the forest alone anyways?" She asked while finshing patting the dirt off of her legs. She could almost guess why, the same reason she came here. No missons to do, nothing interesting in town, to be alone with her thoughts. But she still asked nonetheless.

“Um, I guess you could say a calling brought me here,” she whispered, being only loud enough for the two of them to hear. Her face turned a rosy shade across her cheeks, matching her hair color. How dumb could she get? Why did she feel like stating the honest truth, rather than just lying? This was a complete stranger Sakura was talking to!
“I know it’s lame! It’s just…” she scanned her mind, trying to describe the right word, feeling. Her foot lightly tapped the ground, digging inside it while she concentrated on her real reason for coming. Honestly, she herself wasn’t sure.

Kimi paused a moment. "Intuition?" She said in an almost whisper, just as Sakura just did. "Like you're needed somewhere for some reason, and you're sure of it, but you don't know why?" She asked, not whispering so much any more. Her eyes were big and understanding. "I sorta got that feeling too. I was bored in the village, so I wanted to go somewhere, and I guess I ended up here, out of instict maybe?" She suggested.
Silence came after her words, she she felt silly after she said them. Kimi laughed at herself slightly and shook her head. What was she talking about? That was silly, she'd been there for more than an hour and nothing weird happened.

Sakura stared at her in disbelief, her mouth dropped open. “That’s exactly how I felt!” she exclaimed. Whoever this girl was, she certainly knew a lot of information, possibly more than Sakura herself knew. Deciding to learn more about Kimi, she strolled in the opposite direction before turning her head slightly around, only enough to see her face.
“Walk with me?” she asked politely.

Kimi smiled and nodded, catching up to Sakura as they walked through the forest. She'd been longing for a friend to talk to ever since her mom moved to the Mist village, but no one seemed to understand, or care enough to notice. It was a relief, to finally feel at ease, not just because of meditating.
"So why do you think we both had the same feeling to come out here?" She asked as the damp leaves squished beneath her shoes. "Do you think it's a bad thing? Even if it was, it would be a little embarrasing to tell Lady Hokage about it..."

“No, I don’t think our meeting was a bad thing,” Sakura flashed Kimi a small smile spreading across her face. “All things happen for a reason.”
“As to Tsunade,” she pondered at the thought for a moment. “I don’t think I’ll be telling her about this incident. That is, unless your some kind of masked criminal in disguise!” she teased.

Kimi gasped. "No waay!" She assured, then laughed a little. She looked around them, through the now almost pitch black forest.
"Wow, it really did get dark, huh? I didn't even realize it was this late." She noted, putting her hand on a tree to guide her as the continued to walk. "This is the way back to Konoha, right?" She asked, just to make completely sure. There was no nervousness in her voice.

Sakura nodded her head, gazing at the forest before her. “Yeah, though to be honest I don’t know the forest area too well, so if we get lost, I’m blaming it on you!” she joked, laughing in a reassuring way. A sudden thought occurred to her.
“How come you trust me so well?” she asked puzzled. There was no doubt Kimi already had faith in Sakura, the fact showed by her openess.

Kimi grinned at Sakura's joking, but her smile faded slightly when she asked about trusting her.
"Um... Well, maybe it's because I've seen you around before, or, because you seem like the kind of person who can be trusted." She glanced at her and then looked back forward. "I mean, it doesn't seem like you would do anything to hurt my feelings, so why shouldn't I trust you?" She smiled.

Sakura smiled back. "Thanks, I'm touched." She walked in silence for a couple minutes, finally deciding to start a conversation back up.
"So why do you travel from different villages?" she questioned. Sakura raised her hands in front of her for understanding. "Unless, of course, it's a personal matter..." she trailed off, her thoughts wandered back to her lost teammate.
